Spin, Spin, Spin.

Last week I did something I've never done before- took three spin classes! Before last week, the most I had done was just a single class in a week. And even that seemed like a lot- maybe even too much. But powered by my new spin shoes, I am feeling really motivated to spin my way to a healthier me!

I first used my shoes in class on Thursday. I was pleasantly surprised at just how different the workout was. In some ways it was easier, but in other ways it was more challenging. I was warned that I'd feel it much more in my thighs and boy is that right! What I love about spin is that no matter how much you go, it's a difficult workout each and every time- and it's essentially up to the individual to determine just how much you're going to push yourself and how challenging you'll make those 50 minutes.

I've also learned, you know, from going to three classes in a single week, that the instructor is such a key factor in how you perform. I liked two of the three instructors and found myself really pushing beyond the limits I normally would have- they were fun and motivating. The one I didn't like all that much would say things like, "Come on, keep going, don't disappoint yourself." I don't go to spin to be shamed into working harder. It ain't my style!

It's late and I'm tired, but I hope to write more and more about how I'm spinning myself skinny!
