Today was the close of the 2015 Susan G. Komen Michigan 3-Day. I had a great vantage point looking to the stage and through the front of the crowd from stage left. Getting such a good view is one of the perks of having a job where you help participants who are part of the closing ceremony. I took in everything in front of me, feeling incredibly grateful for having made it through the weekend and happy that all the new elements came together so perfectly.
My eyes wandered to my friend (and co-worker) Sarah who was photographing the emotional closing ceremony as well. What struck me while watching her capture the moment is that we've both been involved with the 3-Day for more than 12 years and yet we can still find the magic and wonder in this incredible event.
