A Story of Someone- 5/24

I had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend- mostly because I had pretty much no plans yet managed to do a lot of fun things and be outdoors a lot. And I ate a hot dog off the grill.

On Sunday, Katie and I went for a hike in Pacific Palisades. I'd done it one other time, but not since last August, and knew it was a beautiful way to spend part of my holiday weekend. While the trail continues on, and becomes much more challenging, below is a photo of a natural stopping point. It's a perfect spot to view this city I love so much. There are a few benches to relax and you can decide to keep going or turn around, feeling confident that you've gotten in a great workout no matter what.

When Katie and I saw the scene below we both knew this was going to be my photo of someone. You know that photo that's been going around on social media of the poor unsuspecting man who is checking his cell phone while a freaking whale breaches in the water while he's distracted by Candy Crush or something? Anyway...that's what came to mind when I saw this. (That and the reluctant admittance that this could have just as easily been me).

Even with the dope checking his cell phone, it's a gorgeous view and gives you an idea of just how beautiful it was for our Sunday afternoon hike!
